My name is Brian Balaskovits and I am a 39-year-old kindergarten teacher from Albuquerque, NM. I graduated from Eastern New Mexico University with a bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education in the winter of 2000 and spent a year and a half after that teaching kindergarten in a dual language Spanish program in Emporia, KS. After that, I moved to Tulsa and got a job teaching pre-school at Cornerstone Child Development Center where I taught for two years. Before coming to Holy Family two years ago, the majority of my teaching career (11 years) was spent with Tulsa Public Schools teaching kindergarten at Zarrow International School. During my time at Zarrow International, I met my wife (Kelly) and we've been married for 5 years now. We have a busy 4-year-old son named James who was fortunate enough to get into our pre-k program here at Holy Family this year and is enjoying his time with his teacher Mrs. Wire. Making the change to Holy Family 2 years ago, was the best decision I could have made at the time and both me and my family have been truly blessed to be a part of this wonderful community! Since I started teaching nearly 17 years ago, I've tried to maintain three basic philosophies: Keep the learning fun, keep the discipline firm but fair, and provide each student with the best learning experience that I can possibly give them each and every day. Staying true to these philosophies throughout the years has given me nearly 2 decades of happiness, success and true joy! I pray that the good Lord gives me the strength and energy to continue to provide this happiness, success, and joy to your students, not just this year, but for many years to come!
