Math and Social Studies Teacher
My name is Corinne Moore and this is my second year teaching at Holy Family. I am married to Grant Moore and have a beautiful daughter Madeline, who was born in April of 2017. This is the tenth year of my teaching career and I currently teach 4th and 5th grade math and 5th grade Social Studies. I graduated from the University of Tulsa with my degree in Elementary Education and a minor in math. I love math and am very passionate about students having a positive experience when it comes to learning math. I believe that a self-confident child makes for the best student. Children with self-confidence do better in the classroom because they think they can. This is especially important in math since it is a subject that a lot of people would say they aren’t good at. I do not believe anyone is bad at math. I think that it takes some people longer to comprehend a mathematical idea, but it doesn’t mean that they are bad at math. In my classroom, I do not let you say that you are bad at math and I do my best to instill confidence every day. I am always willing to help in any way that I can and encourage the students to ask questions when they don’t understand something. I want my students to feel safe, happy, and excited to learn in my classroom and we do that through positive encouragement, exploration, and practice.
