Hi, my name is Dorothy Wire. I met my husband, Steve, in college and we have been married for 28 years. (Nebraska University). I graduated from UNL, what it used to be called before the name changed to NU, with a degree in Elementary Education. I attended Emporia University in Kansas where I completed my Master's degree in Early Childhood. I’m originally from Omaha, NE, taught outside Topeka, KS for 9 years, before moving to Tulsa 19 years ago. My husband and I have 2 children. Our daughter, Lauren is a senior at Rogers State studying nursing, and our son, Stuart is a senior at Bishop Kelley. We have lived in Tulsa for 19 years and have gone to Holy Family Cathedral Church for almost as long. We moved to St. Benedict’s Parish a few years ago, but you can still see me next door some weekends for Mass. I have 1 dog named Buddy. Spot, our first dog, died earlier this year. This is my 15th year teaching and my 6h at Holy Family. I’ve taught kindergarten, fifth, third, and pre-k, but pre-k is my favorite. I have always wanted to teach and believe that all children can learn and it’s my job to help them become lifelong learners.
