Maria Snow

Band Director

Maria Snow is a Catholic wife, mother of 5, free-lance musician, and teacher. A Tulsa-area native, she graduated from Bixby High School and is a graduate of the University of Tulsa where she majored in Music Education. While at TU, Maria had many performance experiences as the Principal Horn in the Concert Band, Wind Ensemble, and Symphony Orchestra. She also played in the orchestra for musicals, the student brass and woodwind quintets in addition to the TU Jazz Band. Maria continued her studies in the wind conducting a program at Oklahoma State University as a graduate assistant with the Cowboy Marching Band. She has taught in private and public schools in both rural and urban school band programs. In 2016, Maria started working with students at HFCS to build the first fully integrated band program in any Oklahoma Catholic school.

Maria is married to Troy Snow, a Knights of Columbus Field Agent. They are Holy Family Cathedral parishioners where Maria has been the alto section leader in the choir since 2009.

As we state daily, one of the aims of Holy Family Cathedral School is to develop students into articulate, faith-filled leaders and peacemakers who shine the light of Christ for all to see. Maria firmly believes this end is best realized by building the grit, confidence, and solidarity learned by participating in a group where EACH individual success directly determines the ENTIRE group success. With God's help, Maria works to provide each HFCS Band student a chance to develop these qualities in a setting that instills the practice of sacrificial love as demonstrated by the Holy Family, all while building strong student musicians in a dynamic instrumental music program.
