Our Mission

Throughout its 119 years, Holy Family Cathedral School has remained dedicated to the principles established by its founder, Saint Katharine Drexel; namely, to provide a quality, Catholic education to traditionally underserved populations: girls, children of color, non-traditional learners, and those without adequate financial resources.  Holy Family remains committed to these well-established values of inclusion and diversity and strives daily to fulfill this mission.

Since the late 70s, Holy Family has weathered a number of challenges, including low population, financial struggles, and inadequate facilities.    With solid community support, a strong school improvement plan, and a commitment to the preservation of this historic Catholic institution, Holy Family Cathedral School experienced a renaissance.  Since 2007, Holy Family has seen a steady increase in population and has made significant improvements to its program including high quality, rigorous curriculum materials, and well equipped, updated learning environments.

As we head into the 2018-2019 school year we are committed to providing a program that provides a high-quality Catholic arts and sciences education in the classical tradition.  Balancing research-based educational practices with our students’  spiritual needs and creative gifts, Holy Family Cathedral School is a thriving community where children can improve their minds, refresh their souls, and increase their joy through artistic expression.  Our faculty and staff remain committed to the ideal that opportunity shouldn’t be limited or defined, and we strive to create an enriching and supportive learning community where all of our students can achieve academic gains, increase their grit and critical thinking skills, and express their true selves through the arts and the sacraments.

Our Staff
